Hamilton Health Sciences' Dietetic Internship Program
To become a Registered Dietitian in Canada requires the following steps:
- Graduation from a PDEP accredited Canadian Undergraduate Program in Dietetics or equivalent
- Successful completion of a PDEP accredited program of supervised practical experience (Dietetic Internship, Integrated Undergraduate program, or combined Masters/Practicum) or equivalent
- Successful completion of the Canadian Dietetic Registration Examination (CDRE).
The Hamilton Health Sciences' Dietetic Internship Program
The Dietetic Internship program at Hamilton Health Sciences is a comprehensive post-degree program designed to provide hands-on professional educational experiences which encourage critical thinking and a problem-solving approach, and support the development of professional judgment. Program experiences are grounded in the Integrated Competencies for Dietetic Education and Practice (ICDEP), 2013
The Dietetic Internship Program at Hamilton Health Sciences is an accredited program recognized by the Partnership for Dietetic Education and Practice (PDEP). Program graduates are eligible for registration with provincial dietetics regulatory bodies.
Hamilton Health Sciences accepts 12 Dietetic Interns.
Applicants to the HHS Dietetic Internship program must apply through the Dietitians of Canada website.
